Letter to M.S. O'Donnell, 1912 October 3.

Mrs. Shattuck writes to Mr. O'Donnell that she had neglected to inform him when he was there yesterday that she had promised a certain Mr. Valentine that she would offer the Thackery letter first to Mr. Goodspeed. Her "New England conscience" had been bothered but since he said that he could not afford it, all is well. Mr. Goodspeed refers to the owner of the Boston book store.
